Community Connection
Our Mission
We create community-centered spaces where people in recovery can work, grow, and reconnect—through job training, mentorship, and a welcoming café and laundromat built on dignity, purpose, and second chances.
Our Vision
We envision vibrant communities where recovery is embraced, second chances are celebrated, and everyone has access to meaningful work, support, and a place to belong.
Our services
Empowering recovery through work, connection, dignity, and community-driven care.
🧠 Peer Support & Connection
Recovery thrives in community. We offer space for 12-step meetings, peer groups, and quiet moments of connection—because no one should do this alone.
🤝 Built by and for the Recovery Community
This project was founded by people in recovery, shaped by lived experience, and driven by the belief that second chances are a right—not a rarity.
☕ Coffee with a Purpose
Our on-site laundromat offers more than just clean clothes—it provides dignity, access, and affordable services in a supportive, sober environment.
Every cup served at Turnaround Café supports job training for individuals in recovery. Our café is a warm, welcoming space where healing and community come together—one espresso at a time.

💼 Job Training & Mentorship
🌙 A Sober Late-Night Space
We equip individuals in recovery with hands-on work experience, mentorship, and professional development. It’s not just a job—it’s a launchpad for long-term success.
Open late to serve as a safe alternative to bars and clubs, the café gives people in recovery a place to gather, work, laugh, and stay connected—especially when it matters most.
A short story about us
Chip Sturdevant’s journey to recovery wasn’t a straight line. Like many, he experienced multiple relapses and several stays in treatment centers before finding lasting sobriety at The Last Resort Recovery Center in Central Texas. It was there, surrounded by people who believed in him, that Chip began to rebuild his life with honesty, structure, and community.
He got sober during the isolation of the COVID-19 pandemic, relying on Zoom meetings and the support of others in recovery to stay connected. But the experience also opened his eyes to the risks of disconnection. During that time, several close friends lost their lives to addiction. These losses underscored a painful truth: recovery is urgent, and community is essential.
Out of that understanding, the Turnaround Café Foundation was born. As co-founder and Executive Director, Chip is committed to creating a safe, welcoming space where people in recovery can find purpose, employment, and support. “Recovery takes a village,” he says. “This is ours.”
